My first post.....

I knew anyone who would do this kind of work on a Weber had to be a member this forum! Bingo!

Awesome work......tons of hours put into it. It's beautiful, but probably tough to find the right person willing to buy it.
Great idea to make it a show piece for others to see, they'll get an idea of what you're capable of doing when restoring a grill.

I'm from PA, your ad on marketplace came up when I was searching Weber grills.
I have a dilemma with a ES330 I recently purchased. I haven't posted about it yet, still working through the issues.

Absolutely no offense taken at any point in time. I think it’s a great discussion worth having, actually. My efforts might serve as inspiration for a project and as a cautionary tale on a deep-dive restoration at the same time. I’d hate to see someone get buried in a restored grill if their financial position is such that they can’t afford to hold onto it for any length of time. For me, my grill habit is funded solely by fun money and will always be just a hobby. A tolerant wife helps a lot, too.
So did you successfully sell it for the $1500?

No sale. I pulled the listing after a few weeks once the freshness wore off and the grill is now tucked away with the other garage queens for now. I will say…reactions were polarizing even by FB standards. I received no less than a dozen comments or direct messages telling me I was crazy, on drugs, out of my mind, etc over the price. I did a little FB research on each of the haters before blocking them and found that most were local garage sale site trolls who seem to contribute nothing while making a habit out of panning other folks listings. Sadly, I tracked one of the trolls far enough back to confirm them as a (fairly inactive) member of this group and a flipper in New England who does nothing more than burners, bars, and igniters and sells his stuff as “restored”. Go figure. At the same time, I’ve also received 8 or 9 messages of encouragement over the quality of the project or a memory of the past that was sparked by seeing my project. All of the DM’s (both good & bad) struck a chord with me as I’m genuinely surprised that so many people would make the effort and take the time to engage that deeply to interject an opinion either positively or negatively over a grill.
