She first wanted me to do a pork loin and a turkey, which I talked her out of (temp conflicts) and insisted on pulled pork sammys (easy mode) I have also been eyeballin those Barbie's Beans for awhile and I think this will be the perfect time to try them out. I know they say 1/4 to 1/2 lb of pork per person, and I hope I come out ok, I bought a cryo with 2 butts weighing about 16.50 lbs. I plan on feeding maybe a little over 20 people, many of them will be children. At 50% yeild, that would be 16 1/2lb sammys or 32 1/4lb so average that out 24 sandwiches? The math seems to come out, but should I buy another butt just incase?

I just wanted to thank you guys. Bryan, you have guided me many of times and I thank you. Kevin, thanks for the allepo addiction

I do both pork loin and turkey at 325 - both together sounds like a winner to me.

Rich,
I've done pork loin's twice and I'm really not impressed with them

Its probably my fault, but even marinated and injected, and cooked barely to food safe, they just seemed bleh. I suppose it would be ok to cook pork loin at high temp, but I did mine low... Besides I'm commited to pp now, as I already bought it. Maybe next time.

Brandon, 2 butts should be fine. Figure most kids won't eat a regular size sammies and most women will only eat one. If you have 3-4 sides to go along with the meal you'll have plenty. IMO 3 butts would be overkill, but would give you plenty of leftovers. You could throw on 2 fatties, and some hot dogs for the kids. Hope you like the beans as much as Rita and I do. Good luck with your cook and snap a few pics along the way.
