I like the insulted rubber/neoprene (or whatever they are) gloves for pulling the butts off the WSM. Your hands do get warm, but they offer enough protection to get the job done. I swith over to my leather welding gloves for hot grate handling and such.
 
Looks like it turned out well. Good pictures too, you got a good smoke penetration, and it looks juicy and tender.

That's exactly what I did, silicone gloves and welding gloves.

Thanks for the compliments, I appreciate it. What I appreciate most is my wife telling me she can't wait for more. HAHA! Givin' the wife a BBQ meat bone....

OK, but make sure you don't have a brain fart, and forget you have the rubber ones on when you say hey, it's prob time I pull off the mid and top section together (aka "the hot squat") and stir the coals up some to knock down the ash. You'll need to get a new pair if you do that. It kinda goes like this. Oh SH!T, I DON'T HAVE MY LEATHER GLOVES ON YOU DUMB A@@ YOU!!! and for the life of you, can't get that burning rubber off your hands fast enough. Don't ask me how I konw, I just do.

HAHA! That sounds similar to the "Oh sh!t, I just pulled the temp probe after 16 hours in the cooker with my bare hand!!!" problem I've... uh... Just heard of... Yeah....
