My Biggest Smoke Yet

Hey All,

A belated 4th of July...

Been away for a while but do stop in from time to time to read up and view everyones smokes.

Well I`m excited to say that tonight I`m in the middle of my largest smoke yet. My sister and sister in law both asked me to smoke some ribs for both of their weekend parties. So right now I`m smoking a 10 lb. pork shoulder and around 9a tomorrow morning, I`ll be starting round 2 with 18 racks of ribs. I don`t think I`ll be able to fit them all in my WSM so I`ll probably do two different smokes with 9 racks each. One question I did have for everyone... how many racks have you been able to get into your 18 WMS?

Best of luck to you, we would love to see how many racks you got on the 22" at the same time. It might take some creative space planning. Give us some pics if you can.

Sounds like you are the smoke master in the family..gotta love it!

IIRC, For Smoke Day 2008, there was a guy that rolled his baby back ribs, and got 9 racks on the top grate, and 7 on the lower grate of his 18" WSM. I looked for the pics, but that thread is long gone, since it was more than a year ago. He was overseas, can't remember the location. If you don't have any rib racks, rolling the ribs is your best option IMO.
