Here's my first modification. Yes, I drilled holes. My wife cringes anytime I have a tool in my hand, so this could have been disastrous...but this process couldn't have been easier. Picked up some garage door handles at the local hardware store http://www.acehardware.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1296777. Got the Unibit #4 Step Drill Bit and boom. One hour later and here are the results.

Handles on my 22 were done right out of the box. No regrets whatsoever.
I planned on the same for the 18, but the cover is so friggin tight as it is, ain't no way it's going over top of handles.

Hey welcome to the board neighbor, and looks like a nice and clean job!
Now get that out of the living room, and get it outside, where it will feel more comfortable.:wsm:

Looks good. I used to wonder why people put handles on their 22's until I got one. I imagine it's much easier to move.

Chad, I used two different handles for my 18.5's when I did them. I WAS able to get the cover over the garage style handles which I did second. ON the first one I used something similar to these since it's not as heavy as the 22. The cover goes on easily

which I found here

They might look awkward to carry but they work very well

You can see the difference between the two in this pic
