I bought a OTG from CL for $25. I'm in the process of cleaning it up. Somewhere - I think it was when I was trying to find a user manual to download from the Weber site - I saw reference to serial numbers and registering them.

Can anyone tell me where to look for a serial number or even a model number stamp on the kettle? Or is that something that only came with the paperwork?

Hey Bob, there is a thread somewhere here where you can get that info. Look under product info, then,"Determining the age of your WSM" that's where I got it. It will show you codes that Weber used/uses. There will be a letter or letters on your top vent that coincides with the year made, unless it was made before 1979.
Hope this helps you.

Thanks for the information! <STRIKE>I'll check my OTG and my SJS tomorrow.</STRIKE>

I checked and both my SJS and my OTG-22 are stamped with DT making them 2003 models. I've probably had the SJS since it was new (but it was out of box and unused when I got it). I just received the OTG last weekend.
