Minion Method Part Deux!

Thanks for all the advice, all will be mashed into my brain and I'll see what squeezes out.

The part deux: I'm using aged apple wood as my smoke. I'm just making sure the wood chunks are well covered by the unlit brickets with a couple on the top with the fully lit brickets.

This is correct right?
 
Correct, spread them around so the catch at different times. Some people put a chunk in the chimney when they start their coals but a chunk or 2 right on top will start smoldering soon enough.
