I know I have to use a brass brush to clean this type of grill, but is it safe to use metal utensils (spatulas, in particular)? Will it cause scratches or chipping?

Are you talking about PCI grates? If so I use a brass or Stainless steel brush and metal untensils on my PCI grates every cook. Never had any problems. The food doesn't stick to them so it's not like I'm scraping really hard on them. Most times I just use tongs, but for burgers I use the Bar-B-Boss spatula. Just so you know. This should have been posted in the grilling forum.

Yes, PCI grates. Thanks, and oops! I know the difference between barbecuing and grilling, I swear! Brain fart, I guess.

Mods, is it possible to move this thread?
