medium rare brisket is it possible?

I was talking with this guy about bbq brisket and he told me he uses an oklahoma joe and cooks his brisket at 175-210 deg, no hotter. Takes out at an internal of 150. He said it comes out medium rare. Was he putting me on or what? I never heard of such a thing. Can you take it out on such a low temp and it be tender?
