Meatloaf on the kettle

I had a request for meatloaf on the grill this weekend. Its a favorite of the wife and kids. Put together a simple mixture of ground beef, egg, onion, milk, seasoned bread crumbs, bell pepper, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Placed it on this greased pan and onto the kettle.

Some pecan and apple wood for smoke

Sorry about the plastic plates - forgot to turn the dishwasher on

. Meatloaf kind of fell apart too. Maybe I should of used more bread crumbs and/or egg. Taste was really good though.

Total cook time for the meatloaf was about 1.5 hours (for 2 lbs. of ground beef). I've done meatloaf this way probably 4 or 5 times and I just can't bring myself to cook them in the oven now. The flavor from the charcoal and a couple chunks of smoke wood is really nice.

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Thanks for looking!

Great looking meal Russell and don't worry about the plastic plates, I use them all the time, unless we have company..

Meatloaf is one of my favorites on the grill.

Great idea, Bob!

Russ - have a meatloaf sandwich with some of that sauce on it. Great looking meal, even on plastic plates. We have some heavy weight plastic plates that we use all the time for dinner and I used to not want to post food pics of them here. It's less about the plate than the food. Heck, if I could hold hot food on my hand and the pic looked good, I'd post pics of food on hand.
