Mastertouch Ash Sweeper Help Needed

I have a Mastertouch and the original ash sweeper is frozen in place. I put some Kroil on it and attempted to disassemble, but the thumbscrew broke off and I don't know how to proceed. I was thinking to drill out the thumbscrew remains, but I don't know if that will help or not.

Basically the flat piece of steel that holds the ash catcher on is rusted through and the ash can is about to fall off. I have a new ash catcher/ash sweeper from Weber that I need to put on, but obviously I can't do that until the old ash sweeper is off.

Thanks in advance for any helpful guidance/advice. If anyone has pictures of what the original Mastertouch ash sweeper looks like when disassembled, that would really be appreciated.

I've had to drill out two of these. Its a PIA but its the only way I know how to free up a roached out sweeper system. The ones I have in rotation, I unscrew the thumbscrew twice a season to prevent them from rusting tight.
