Manifold Maintenance Tips?

I'm cleaning up the manifold on my Genesis Silver C project BBQ which was quite rusty. I was wondering if anyone has experience doing this type of thing. Should I be lubricating the pins? Tips for re-painting? How to better clean?

Thanks, and I hope the pic link works, it's a first time experiment for me.

The valves should never see the likes of WD40 or penetrating oil EXCEPT to free them up prior to disassembly and proper lubrication with a high temp synthetic grease (I prefer one with molybdenum). Otherwise you'll just gum up the valve and make things worse eventually

That's great info, thank you! I was wondering if that might be the case. All of my valves are functioning, but I was wondering if giving it a shot of white lithium might be beneficial to smooth the action.
