I got tired of the rubber/ synthetic stuff that just trapped dog hair and whatever.
Kelly needs a knee replacement and this makes it easier for her to get in and out.
Cost was about 50 bucks and a few hours labor.

Yeah, I meant I didn't understand how it helped. Sometimes my brain knows but my fingers don't follow :D

Great job, must be nice to have a professional carpenter in the house 👍

Somehow these got a little out of whack but, a friend with skills can be a serious ally!

The only thing better is having a cabinetmaker for a close buddy for almost fifty years! IMG_0296.jpegIMG_1258.jpeg
He also makes some incredible guitars and Banjos! Nicest guy under the sun! Talk about a brother, he’s one of mine with a different last name!

Lots of beautiful work there. I always marvel at people who know how to work with wood.
Yes indeed! Wife picked up the cabinet in the middle with the TV on it years ago so, when we redid the floors she decided that it was time to shed the old cheap junky ones which were remnants of her previous marriage and have nice ones made. My buddy had one of the doors to match color for the stain, he sourced the quartersawn oak and in person, the color is just about perfect. His workmanship I will put up against anyone’s!
The patio bar is quartersawn sycamore from his scrap stock! That was a fun project for me, access to a shop like his and having him “not let me” screw up was a nice afternoon.
The grill table you’ve alll seen before too Stroh’s beer barrel stock. Same fun, different day.

Very nice. The dog seems a little apprehensive in the last pic (or maybe just posing?) Adjusted to it quickly?

I hope Kelly can get that replacement soon, it is life-changing.
