LP to NG Conversion

I just purchased a used Weber Genesis Silver LP grill manufactured in 2005. My reason for purchasing this grill was to convert it to NG and connect it to my house. The joke's on me since I didn't realize how difficult and complicated this would be. I'm not one to be easily deterred, and joined this forum specifically to find someone who can help me walk through this conversion. Can you or someone in this forum help me? Thank you.

Welcome Brian,

The best way to handle this is to replace the manifold. You may find someone here on the forums that has one. You'll also need a gas supply hose to connect the manifold to your house supply. The hoses are fairly standard. I have a couple in my garage.

You are in a good spot right now. Since you have an LP grill you cook it now on while you find the parts to convert it to NG.

Hi Brian, this forum is littered with posts by people that have converted their grills by changing out the gas orifices in the manifold only to discover the grill no longer has distinct low/med/high settings. To keep it simple and safe, I would get a NG manifold and swap it out as Dan mentioned above.

Thanks, Steve. I'll post on here for someone who might have one to sell.

Hey, if you had bought yourself a Genesis 1000 grill instead I would already be making arrangements to send you a NG manifold that I have. It's definitely worthwhile to check here first.
