Low Temp Meatloaf ???

I have read that some of you like to cook meatloaf at lower temps 250 ish.

What's the advantage to cooking meatloaf at the lower temps ?? any info appreciated. Thanks

Other than it could dry out on you, I see no reason to cook a meat loaf low and slow. IMO you're better off in the 325º-350º range.

There is no reason to smoke meatloaf at that low of temp. I agree in the 325-350 range. I cook meatloaf on the kettle all the time....its usually in the 350+ range.
 
I agree. Ground beef absorbs smoke like a sponge, so there's no need to keep it on longer than necessary. I've done a couple indirect on the kettle and they turn out great. Nice smoky flavor, great smoke ring, moist.
 
Dont do it. I messed up a meatloaf once this way, at low temps my veggies (green and red pepper) didnt get soft and I ended up with a crunchy meatloaf
