Low N Slow In A SJ?

Has anyone ever tried a snake method in a SJ?
Going camping this Independence Day weekend and thinking a 1/3 slab of S Louis style ribs and will only have my trusty SJ available.

Standard SJ with the bottom vent or a vintage 3-wheeler? I'd think the latter would give better air control.

Although my initial thought is that just grilling the ribs direct would be easier.

Standard with the single top and bottom vents.
I may try it just to see if it can be done!
