Low Cost Food Thermocouple

Thought I would get away from the failing food probes and use thermocouple for food probes. Have TC board and parts ordered.
I started looking for TC probes for insertion into the food, found them to be very expensive, does anyone know where to get cheap food TC probes, all the cheap ones have low temp wire insulation.

All those linked (the Thermoworks Pro Series) are Thermistor probes. Thermoworks has K-type penetration probes too but as you've seen their "low cost" version is $33. I've looked around and can't seem to find any penetration probes (with a pointy tip) anywhere else that have a wire braid suitable for prolonged use in a high temperature environment. Let us know if you find some!

Bryan is right. I should not respond to posts at that hour of the night. I was just finishing a HM build and was very tired. It did work perfectly first time at least. When another board arrives later this week I will again work late. Today or tomorrow I should receive their thermocouple pit probe. May not be cheap but Thermoworks products have always been first rate for me.
