Hello everybody!

As the title says. My wife gets itchy from vinegar so acidity should come from lemon, lime or some fruitjuice and due to diabetes honey for swetness since it is the slowest carb of normal sugars, fruit juice is also ok for sweetness.
The sauce should be something like the normal sweet baby ray, bulls-eye and what they are named.
Ingredients can not be special US sale stuff since that is normally not found in stores in finland.

Canned crushed tomatoes for base and not too sweet, then what else? :)

Apricot works well in BBQ sauces and if you can use jam it will sweeten and thicken for you, if not try pureeing the apricot and add honey to sweeten. I'd think a can of tomatoes, 1Tbls worcestershire sauce, 1/2 an onion diced, a few cloves of garlic crushed, 1 lemon quartered and squeezed, drop the peel and pulp in the pot, fresh ground black pepper, 1 Tbls of your favourite rub. Put it all in a sauce pan and let it simmer on low to thicken and meld the flavours together. Taste and adjust as necessary. Strain the lemon and garlic out, I like to leave the onion in my sauces.

This is pretty much guess work but it might give you some ideas.

Thank you so much for this, have to try it the next time. Work is taking too much of my spare time this weekend and next week, and I got my WSM today, but hopefully some pulled pork or moose next weekend.

No problem. Let me know how it works if you make it. I might try it and see what I come up with.

You could also just do a tomato, honey and garlic sauce.

Have you tried Teriyaki Sauce? I posted a recipe here. You could completely eliminate the sugar by substituting honey as you suggested or by using stevia extract. Acidity is provided by OJ & pineapple. My family really enjoys this recipe for poultry or pork...

John
