Looking for advice on some fasteners

Seems I have misplaced some fasteners on a restore i'm doing. First one is the 2 plastic screws that hold the panel down to the frame. The second is the metal round fastener that holds the wheel to the bar. Any leads on replacements?

You can pick those axle nuts up at most hardware stores. If you can't find any, I can send you a couple for a $1 plus shipping charges.
Those plastic fasteners for the control panel are going to be tough to find.

thanks. Think I see those axel nuts that comes together with the plastic cap.

wonder if anyone has used those automotive plugs. It’s circular so maybe go a smaller size to fit it through the square opening??

Yah, that would be your best bet, but the square ones are pretty specialized. Just find a round one that works.

The square ones look a lot like automotive license plate hardware. Take a look in the local auto parts store to the isle where they have license plate fasteners. “Dorman help section”
or “borrow” some off a junk car next time you are cruising the junkyard....

Scott,
I work in an Auto Parts store and brought several different sizes of those license plate plugs in but none seemed to fit, they were all too large. Bruce is correct, those seem to be getting harder to find.

I happened to find a donor Genesis Silver. The ones where the control panel screws in. There is a square plastic “sleeve” that goes into the frame. I popped those into my frame and done. My grill originally had zip ties as the push fasteners were long gone.

I use these.. had to buy a bag for headlight change on my car. Holds grill shroud on. They come in different sizes.. push it in then tighten the screw in. Works good.

JoelZ those plastic push pins are easier to find at the auto parts store, even if not “correct” they would work.

That’s a shame... I took a look at my grill and some license plate hardware I had laying around and yes the plastic push bits on the grill are smaller, maybe 1/4 square hole? These types of hardware are used in other areas of cars, like mounting front grills, and headlight adjustment hardware. Finding the right one from a car to fit the grill will take a lot more digging. I did find a website that listed different types of plastic push nuts:
As you can see there are a lot of different ones to choose from.
