Howdy folks.

Been visiting this place for years and finally registered. It started with my WSM, you guys helped me with some mods and recipes.

Things were great until I suffered a heart attack back in 2011, almost did not make it, then no more barbeque for me. Well, at least at first. My doctor cannot see this, can he? :p

Admittedly, I have not used the WSM since. Just looked inside it yesterday - gross! Mold everywhere, probably headed for a dumpster after I strip the goodies off it.

Been using a Weber kettle grill for the past two years and love it. Getting pretty good at smoking with it, probably use it three to four times a week, even when it's snowing outside.

Just recently, with the help of this forum and you guys, I've upgraded the grill from a one touch silver to gold. Going to add a lid bale next, then I'll start working on a table/workstation.

You guys have been a huge help, figured it's time to start contributing. :o

Welcome Webster. Sorry to hear about your health problems. Sounds like you've reached a nice compromise in your diet so you can still enjoy bbq.

Thanks Cliff.

I discovered man cannot live on nuts & berries. Besides, once you've tasted barbeque done right, there is no going back. Salt is the real enemy.

good to have you back

suggest you don't bin the WSM - there's bound to be someone on here who would take it and clean it up...

Welcome Webster, I to had some health problems about five years ago ( two mini strokes) lucky for me they found what was causing them and fixed it.

don't dumpster that WSM that mold will clean right off, I'm sure you know somebody that you would like to give the baby to and see them enjoy it.

It's pretty bad inside that thing. I should start a new thread on cleaning a totally gross molded-out smoker, would be interested on thoughts and ideas for making it food safe...
