long shot here.... who has a skyline condiment thingy they'd be willing to part with?

Bought a great shape skyline a few months ago and didn't realize it at the time that it was missing the condiment rack. It was the original owner and he had rigged up a piece of painted wood with hooks on it so I didn't notice. Rest of the grill in great shape and would like to bring back to life.

This part. Let's make a deal!

Those are one off parts I am sad to say. The problem is they, like yours, are missing from a lot of the Skylines after a few years. And I think the Skyline was the only grill that Weber used them on.
One thing you might watch out for is that Weber made a stationary NG pedastal grill that used an almost identical basket. The only difference that I can tell is that it doesn't have three little tool hooks on the front of it. So, also keep your eyes open for those.

Haha, yes. It's too bad because it looks pretty cool on the side. Luckily I still have the rod holding end cap so I can make my own hook apparatus with a few screws to nest in the frame and end cap. This owner was pretty proud that his lasted so long since new, so my guess is it rusted away from time rather than pure neglect like we see so often on the side of the road grills.

Chris, doubt it was rusted away. I have seen several and have a couple skylines now and none of them had baskets that were overly weather worn.
Those end caps tend to come out or flex in a way that allows the basket to fall out. It happens with the swing shelves on the other side as well. People just get tired of dealing with them and that is why you see a lot of Genesis 1000 grills with the swing shelf missing on laying on the shelf below the grill. Once someone sets the condiment basket aside, it gets lost many times.

Good point, it's probably in the guy's garage on a high shelf somewhere and he forgot about it. Oh well, 50 miles away so I'm not chasing after it. In my short experience doing this, I've learned that just when you think you can't find something rare, stuff seems to pop up, and nearby. I will keep my hopes up!

Chris, perfect atttitue. If you keep looking, you will eventually find one. In the mean time, that grill will still cook just as good.
