Lonely Ranch Kettle

Had a few people over for dinner and did bar-b-que chicken, various sausages and a flank steak on my go to Ranch. Shows how lonely it can be on the grill with not a lot of food: flank steak on my JJ grill grates; 3 chicken breasts and six sausages. The beauty of the Ranch with one charcoal chimney: indirect and direct. Move food around as required to different heat zones. Threw the flank steak on last onto the searing grill grates.

That is a huge grill! That would come in handy for me at least 4 times a year!
Father's Day
Fourth of July
August pool parties :D
Labor Day
I've been weighing against buying that grill vs two 22"kettles. The ranch does look lonely lol

Thanks for sharing Jim

I have never timed the temps at 350. I usually use one full chimney for most cooks. I've kept the temps at 250 and 270 when smoking, but that required constant monitoring and replacement of charcoal. That is why I ended up getting the WSM - set and forget. I will say I did agonize on the WSM decision b/c I smoked the same food on the Ranch.... just not as easily b/c of monitoring temps.
