I have both, and love both. If you can find a bubba keg, jump on it. The eggs are just so expensive, they are hard to justify. If I could do it again, I would still buy both, but I wouldn't mind if the bubba keg was first this time.

I grew up eating on one of those Sportsman Lodge Cast Iron Grills. I remember my buddy's Dad cooking on it back in the late 70's. He could cook for 6 people on it somehow. It sat outside all year in the weather but was so seasoned it never rusted.

Just ordered big steel keg, I thought it would be fun to load on the back of my Jeep trailer hitch and head to the beach. I'm sure it will take a while to get used to it but I'm gonna give it a try!

Sam's Club in the Phoenix area has the little Lodge grill - it is dirt cheap compared to anyone else. Will have to stop over there to double-check, but I remember it being around $65.

[EDIT]

Even though I am getting older, the mind is still sharp.

Lodge Sportsman Grill - $64.81

If you aren't a member of Sam's Club, there is a small surcharge added - but that would still be cheaper than anywhere else I've seen it.

You will really enjoy the cooker. Check out the link Derek posted, lots of good help over there as the keg cooks differently than anything else.

John, thanks for the reply. Just wondering if you know if the keg would fit behind a Jeep Wrangler with the trailer hitch attachment with the spare tire on?

Ray, I saw your message earlier today, and when I was on the freeway, I was behind a Wrangler. I dont think it would fit, I would believe that you need to remove the spare, or increase the length of the bar that goes into the hitch.

Thanks Derek, It sounds like the hitch kit might not work for me but I'm gonna order it anyhow and modify if needed. One of the things I liked about this over the BGE is going mobile. Thanks
