Lodge 17" Skillet on 22.5" Kettle

Please forgive me if this has already been discussed to death. I'm wanting to get a Lodge 17" skillet to use on my Performer. Has anyone tried that setup? According to the specs, the skillet is 19.5" from handle to handle, so it would fit. I'm mainly wondering about airflow. I'm guessing I'd mostly use the skillet without the lid on the grill, though perhaps not exclusively so. If you have experience using the Lodge 17" skillet on a 22.5" kettle, I want to know if it has any tendency to choke out your coals. Many thanks in advance. --David

David. I have the Lodge 15 1/4" skillet and the overall is 22" I bank the coals in a C pattern on the sides and rotate the pan ever so often.
No choking out of coals on my 22.5" OTG.
