I cooked a brisket last week that came out sooner than expected. The lid thermometer temp. varied drastically from the grate thermometer so I decided to check both.
I removed the thermometer from the lid and noticed a lot of gunk on the probe. Anybody know how to clean this up without damaging the probe reading (sensor)? It's sitting in hot water as we speak, however nothing seems to be coming off.
Where exactly is the temperature taken on these permanent lid thermometers? I have something similar to a tel-tru BQ300.
