LCD not displaying info

Hi all,

Just finished building my HM with a RPi 3 board. Wifi works and I can access everything on LinkMeter, however my LCD display lights up but does not display characters. LEDs seem to work and change when I push the buttons. I also see changes on the LinkMeter. I checked all of my solder joints and I don't see any bridges across pins on the LCD header nor on the shift register. Could the LCD be bad?

did u turn the contrast pot?

Dave, thanks for the tip! Sure enough, I forgot about the contrast pot. After adjusting my display works great.

I love it when it is something easy like that. Sitting there waiting for it to spring to life and it feels like I've been waiting a long time... then I notice the ATmega is still sitting on the table because I never put it in. Doh!
