I guess it had to happen eventually.
Just started cooking the last cheap brisket I had in the freezer.

I feel your pain. Last week when I was at Costco the full packers were about $60.00. Just wish meat prices would normalize. I felt luck to get a pork butt at Smart & Final last week for $2.19 a pound. Prices for meat in Los Angeles are NOT nice. Part of the joy of cooking is knowing you are getting great food and saving money. At least we are still getting great food. 50% is still better than nothing I guess.

Somehow it seems wrong that it takes me 14+ hours to cook a brisket and fixins but it only takes the family about 15 minutes to devour it.

I used apricot wood chunks this time and was really pleased with the flavor.
