Saw this a few times on other posts. Had to make one for myself. The weber charcoal baskets are kind of small. I like to cook indirect and do a reverse sear. Plenty of room for a couple of 1" fire bricks.
A friend of mine made me two, one for my 22.5 OTG and one for the 26.75. These work great! I also use 2 firebricks against it and foil the bottom grate. Great mods for the kettles for sure!
I like that Earl. Looks like I'll be making another custom accessory for my 26". Actually it will go well with the Rotisserie ring I plan on making for the 26 too.
I have a quick question. How did you attach it together, welding or wire? If wire, what kind of wire? I am planning on building a charcoal basket, even though I have never actually seen the Weber baskets but in pictures they look a little small.
