Kingsford Charwood Lump Charcoal

Has anyone used this? I will be firing up my new WSM this weekend and I bought a couple of 10 pound bags of this and it will be my first experience with lump. Just wondering if anyone can tell me how temp control and burn time is with this new lump. Thanks!

I haven't ran any Charwood through my WSM yet, but I did try a bag in the BDS and it is pretty good stuff. It tends to spark alot when lighting, but isn't to bad and gave a decent burn time. I finally found some BGE and Wicked Good lump so that is what I'm dabbling with now.

Not much, but I hope it helps a little. Let us know what you think of it after your cook.

Definitely sparks a lot when lighting. I prefer Royal Oak but it isn't bad.
