KC Masterpiece Mods

Ok guys - after visiting the local Wally World and loading down the back of the Explorer with all the remaining Kingsford blue bag charcoal they had (50 cents a bag, compliments of the K Coupon!), I find myself with an abundance of KC Masterpiece BBQ sauce. Not bad stuff, but not what I make either.

Anybody got any taste tested ideas for modifying the KC Masterpiece sauce to make it better? I already can see that I'll want to cut it with vinegar or water to get it to the consistency I like.

Any suggestions for additions of other liquids, spices, sauces, etc., to get it even better?

Thanks!

Pat

Use some apple juice and a little balsamic vinegar. Maybe a little cayenne pepper to add some heat. Then add some honey if you want to give it some tang.

I find it too sweet already. I'd likely cut with apple cider vin (for needed acidity), fresh or canned diced tomato (which I'd purée first, to restore some freshness to its woefully overcooked flavor), and a little pomegranate molasses and/or reduced pineapple juice (for background fruit notes).

I usually doctor up store bought BBQ sauce by adding some Worcestershire sauce, honey, granulated garlic, granulated onion, black pepper, seasoning salt, hot sauce

Don't forget to add a couple of shots of vodka.
One for the cook and one for the sauce, adds wonders IMO...
