Worst customer service ever!
I love academy sports have bought things there for years.
I've had about 6 online orders & 2 have been wrong !
Took the first one back to the store & got straightened out only after getting a manager.
Decided to try online when my 12 qt Dutch oven was missing a lid.
First call 15:00 min wait for available customer agent.
Then tried to "chat " with agent & waited another 15:00 min.no answer!
Called back finally after 17:00 min got an answer & the pleasant rep. Stated that for replacement parts the wait was 3-6 weeks!
Well I hope I get it but definitely the last item from academy I get online.
The service from Amazon & Dicks greatly superior

John, if you think that this is the worst customer service ever, you were probably fortunate enough to have not bought a mid 80's Dodge. Just sayin..... :-)

Heck, let's make this the "vent" thread.
We recently went all cable, as in tv, house phone, and internet.
I had called AT&T to cancel our landline and internet service (the bill for those two had went up to $144 a month)
The gal said if you get a bill in the mean time don't pay it, wait for one that says final bill.
We did, and paid it.
A couple of weeks later we get another bill stating it's an adjusted final bill for another $42.
Say what?
Haven't taken this up with them, yet.

Okay, here's mine! First part of the year, we got our renewal notice from our auto insurance. They said they were gonna jack it up 40% for a "careless driving" ticket I got A YEAR AND A HALF AGO! I called and told them that was quite a jump for a ticket that only added a point to my license. They replied that I'd gotten a "reckless driving" ticket and it was a 4 point ticket. I told them that they were wrong. No,they replied. I was mistaken. Long story short, I now have a new policy that is less than half of what I was paying before the jack!
But the real kick in the pants? After 3 phone calls to get ahold of someone to cancel the old policy, they sent me a bill for $25. Cancellation fee. Yeah, keep waiting on that one!

I know what ya mean Bob, we did the same thing total TWC, the phone doesn't work if the power goes out, all the phone jacks that worked when they first hooked it up don't work anymore just the one the one phone is hooked to at the modem, we have the wireless ones around the house, then they said if you have a tv not hooked to a converter box of some kind you wont get any signal so we got 3 of the small boxes for the TV's not hooked to the big DVR, didn't get half the channels and they said, oh, we'll fix it at no cost ...BAZINGA ... there's a charge on the bill the next month for repairs to the equipment, they come out again because they said there was an issue with the cable from their box out back to the house now I get pixilation on some of the channels on the other TV's and still missing channels on the smaller converter box.

Phil, had something similar happen with us, they kept raising the monthly fee so my wife dropped them a few weeks later a rep calls and asks why, when my wife explained things to the rep he said HUH !!! he got us a lower rate with better coverage.

I just got off the phone withTWC CS. Our modem went out on Sunday. I spent 45 minutes talking to a very heavily accented man, who finally deducted that our modem wasn't working. The earliest he could get someone out was Thursday! WT### ! He then told me that I could take it to a local office and swap it out. Deal!
So yesterday, I took it and swapped it out. Of course, it's not just plug and play. Another 30 minutes with the TWC CS. But they got it up and running.
Or so I thought. It seems that with the new modem came a NEW PHONE # ! Cue the WT#### again! We've had the number for 15 years! So, 2 calls and 30 minutes later, I have phone service and my old number back! I need a beer!

And Don, when I was canceling the first policy, I told the guy what our new rate was. He said they couldn't beat it!

Phil, our insurance snafu was because of 2 accidents over a 3 year period of time and neither of which were our fault according to police reports, one a guy ran a red light and the other a stop sign. A young girl from the insurance company, who was a new employee, called us she informed my wife they would only insure her and not me so my wife made a few calls, found another company and with in a week after the company we were with called us back, we had been covered with them for well over 20 years with out a single claim they apologized and we are still with them at a little lower rate.

I love academy sports. I always say its the walmart of sporting goods. They have a lot of stuff and a lot of cheaper options compared to the other major stores like dicks/bass pro etc. With that being said I have never ordered anything online from them and have never had to deal with customer service.

I have purchased a few things from Academy and had good luck. I have never purchased anything online from them and probably wont after reading this.....lol.......

I have had the same terrible experience with Academy sports CS. I ordered a pair of Leupold binoculars a few months ago and when they arrived, they were labeled as dem /floor model were obviously not new/unopened. When I contacted CS, I was far less then pleased with the service I received. I love to shop in academy stores, but when I bought the binoculars, it shopped on Academy online two times...my first and last!
Tim
