Being from the Kansas City area, I've been surrounded by great BBQ my whole life, I'm in my late 50's.
I never thought about cooking my own because of the great variety that was readily available.
Last summer my wife and I drove to Memphis and Nashville to try different BBQ styles.
We ate at 12 different BBQ joints in four days (we split a meal at most places).
KC BBQ is great but I love Memphis style too.
Sometime soon we'd like to try the Carolina style.
This year my son got a WSM and his first BBQ was fabulous.
My other son tried ribs on his Weber kettle grill and they turned out great too.
They got me to cook some ribs on my Weber with great success, I'm ready to get my own WSM.
This weekend I'm going to to cook a Boston Butt on my sons WSM, (he said I could try his out before I got my own).
Well, I'm new but I've already learned a lot from reading on the forum. There's a lot to to learn but it will sure taste good trying all the meats, rubs and sauces.
Thanks to all of you that have posted before me, there is a wealth of information here.
Glad to be a part of this forum,
Larry
