They're just like Jucy Lucys except for being made with Italian sausage, cheeses, and seasoning.
I started with a pound of ground beef and about 12 ounces or so of loose Italian sausage.
After combining the meats and some Italian seasoning I made a filling of shredded mozzarella, grated asiago, and butter.
I didn't do anything special, just grilled them indirect with briquettes in case the filling and pork melted and ran.
The filling didn't melt quite completely, which was actually kind of nice because it didn't run out on my plate. I liked the flavors and in hindsight a little pizza sauce in the filling might've been good too.
