Is it possible to do anything with the PI 3 at this point?

I just put together a HM 4.3. I planned on doing a stand-alone unit until I could get my hands on a Pi-Zero. It did not click that I needed the Pi to flash the ATmega238P. I have a Pi-Zero on order but it will be a while before it gets here. I really don't want to smoke another turkey manually manning the fire

I have a Pi 3 and EDiMAX wifi dongle. Would I be able to setup something with this?

Can the ATmega238P be flashed without a R-Pi?

You don't need the Edimax with the pi3.

Yup, the Pi3's wifi is better than the rtl8192 (Edimax's chip) so just the Pi3 is all you need!
