Well my new 22.5 WSM I bought was a floor model because I couldn't find a new one in a box at several stores.

So today I called CS to ask for paper work/cook book and cover that comes with new one in box. There was no issues and were happy to send it. She asked if I need anything else. I mentioned the spacing around my access door. She said that spacing is normal and could not send me a new door. I guess a gasket mod is next on list
 
Yes, Weber customer service is excellent.

About the access door, they always need fiddling with and gently bending to get to fit right, but can usually be made to fit well enough.
