Injecting Turkey


 
I've always opted to brine the bird and have realized great results. That being said, I've always wanted do inject as well. Would it be overkill to brine AND inject? Or is the rule of thumb to do one or the other?

I've brined turkey twice and I'm not a fan, never done both. You would really have to watch the salt. If you were doing a compound butter injection and making it yourself you could try unsalted butter where as I use salted butter with no brine.
