Injectin' a pork butt

I'm gonna put a couple of pork butts on tonight and was wanting to experiment with injecting one of them.

Any suggestions for something "off the shelf", quick and dirty?

I like sweet stuff with pork, and of course apple is a natural foil for pork, so I'd say if you had any combo of maple syrup, apple juice, and hot sauce, it could be a winner. Maybe even a touch of apple cider vinegar to give it some bite.

Oh--honey's good with pork, too, so if you don't have maple syrup, try that.

When I inject I have used Stubb's pork marinade. You have to strain it though. It is well work the effort! Extremely moist and flavorful throughout the whole butt.

Thanks, Larry. I'll try that one next time. This was a last minute thing I decided to try. Most stores are closing down around here and the ones that are open and so full of people, it makes you wanna lose your holiday spirit in a frenzy...
