Induction range - thinking of getting one

Currently have a 30” DACOR slide in dual fuel range.
Thinking of replacing it (moving to kids house) with an induction range but am worried about how durable the cooktop is. I already have the electrical in place.

What’s been your experience if I might ask.

I bought a Samsung Bespoke Smart Induction range. The glass top seems very well engineered to not mar or scratch and I've not been "gentle" on it. Honestly my only "complaint" (if you can call it that) is the markings for where to place a pan are not easy to see and I find it very easy to not center a pan correctly.
But, overall it's a breeze to work with, easy as pie to clean, and even despite me dragging stainless steel pans across it, cleans up and looks like it just got unpacked from the box.
IDK how it would stand up to "impact" or really rough use with say cast iron stuff. But, in all reality I'm not likely to find out as honestly "I'm over the cast iron" being legendary for cooking. IMO? MEH keep it. I'm seriously looking to unload all my CI stuff. Too hard to care for, too hard to handle, doesn't really seem to do anything better than quality stainless steel or non stick ceramic cookware.
I've got some fine old pieces if anyone interested :D
