Does anyone know how I can score a WSM for a good price? Can't find one on Craigslist in this area. I appreciate any advice.

In searching AllofCraigs.com I saw that there are WSMs for sale in Bakersfield and San Francisco. Are either of those cities near to you?
 
next best is, if you can find it at HD. They are clearing out the 18s for $224. If you can find Lowes movers from Post Office (ask), it will knock %10 off on top of $224.

"Good price" is a function of time and money.

Time - How long are you willing to wait?
Time - How much time are you will to spend going to garage sales?
Time - The number times a used WSM will show up on craigslist in your area depends on where you live.

If you really want to smoke, it is possible to do smoke ribs and chicken indirect on Weber kettle.

Rarely can you get a good deal on-line or at your local store.
 
The best (WSM, Kettle grills) hardly ever go on sale. Save up yer cash and buy a new one and it will last a lifetime.

.. I personaly have never seen a wsm on craigs list in my area. Plenty of standard black kettles thou. No red headers!

You'll not find a lower price from a regular retailer ANYWHERE. And yes, this is a 2011 model with the updates.
 
I looked at my local CL for nearly 6 months, doing daily searches for WSM/Weber/webber/BBQ smoker/charcoal grill/etc. until I finally found one. If you are willing to wait and/or drive, you can find a deal on CL.
