I'll ask...origin of ABTs?

I gotta tell ya, I am getting more and more interested in making some ABTs. I showed the thread on here to my wife, and she asked me where they originated - ie: what restaurant, who's creative brain, etc.

Anyone here know? Did some creative member invent them? Did some restaurant serve them and a member came up with their own version? What's the story?
