Hypothetical BBQ Throwdown

Welcome back. And it's always good to see you with another book in print.

Hypothetically speaking, if there were a throwdown of all the well known BBQ guys we see in the media, who's going to place second behind you?

Kent,
One of the reasons that I love barbecue is that we are all chasing the impossible dream of perfect results. As far as I know, no one has gotten there yet. There are just too many variables, not least of which is personal preference. Barbecue competitions are not like car races, where there is a clear winner each and every time. This past weekend I was a judge at the Memphis in May competition. A lot of teams that I'd never heard of took top honors. It goes to show that who wins depends as much on the judges as it does on the cooks.
