How to change ip address

I haven't used my heatermeter in at least a year, last time I tried I just gave up & cooked without it.

I've tried scrolling through using the button/hat switch on the front but that just scrolls through the probe temps.

I logged into my router & saw I'd set the port forwarding (I don't need help with port forwarding) to 10.1.10.10, but that's a printer now..... I turned the printer off and same thing (no reply).

I'm sure it's set to static (was 10.1.10.10), can't ping it, no reply. And it's a wired connection.

I just started a pepper-stout beef cook an hour or two ago and thought I'd use it

Nevermind - I found it! I didn't want to pull out the fluke etherscope or a network scanner just for this, then I remembered I could see the devices connected to the router...

So badda boom, bada bing :) My heatermeter is back up

default password is no password, so you must have set a password if there is on installed. I've never been locked out of a HM so I don't know any tricks to get back in, other than to perhaps reset your HM to default, then you'd prob have to go through the complete setup again. You could go through the HM menu to the Reset function and apply, though different HM software versions will behave differently when you do the reset. Or you could reflash the SD Card (with your computer) and then set the "no restore" option so it will not install the config backup from the HM (and the old password with it) if you have an older software version.

and BTW, in the case of the missing IP address, you can now go to http://heatermeter.com/devices/ from any computer using the same internet IP as the HM and it should show your HM listed there and IP address(s) assigned to it.

Your HeaterMeter is doing a fine job of measuring temps, but from your screenshots, the blower was pretty much off the whole time, meaning it didn't actually do any part in controlling the cook.

I don't have a blower or damper connected, I use it only to monitor temperatures, I don't see myself adding to the system either, I like it just fine as-is.

I suppose I might find a waterproof enclosure, add wi-fi, and add a battery.

It took me a while (long ago) to figure out why the screen looked black & then had the blueish overlay.
