How old is too old?

I found a frozen Butterball turkey breast in the back of my freezer. It was purchased for Thanksgiving 2006 and had been frozen since.

Do I toss it?

Thanks,
T

Not me.
I'd thaw it out, fire up the smoker and cook it with a meatloaf, fatties, or something. That way if it failed the taste/sniff test after it was done I still had supper.
And the dog would get a nice smokey treat.

But that's just me. Here in Wyocena we live in a hollow tree.

I just saw this: "It was purchased for Thanksgiving 2006." That's only a couple of months ago. Absolutely cook it. It'll be fine. I thought it was much older than that.

According to these guys - Fact Sheet as long as you keep the food at 0 degrees it will be safe indefinitely. However, food quality for uncooked poultry is recommended to be used before 9 months.
