how long is smoked salmon good for?

I did some appitized style smoked salmon 2 or 3 weeks ago and it's been in the fridge ever since...do you think it'll still be good?
 
The brining process used in that recipe does not seem in any real way sufficient to perform a preservative function. I'd have to strongly urge tossing it.
