I've posted this question in several places and I know some of you visit those places, so if you've already responded elsewhere, then feel free to ignore this question.

How fast does your smoke fire get up to 600 from cold start.
I have an EX4 and have timed it twice and it took about 23 minutes each time.
Ambient temp was 80 degrees.
I was using Pit Boss competition blend pellets.
I have the latest software/firmware, but all original December of 2019 hardware/parts.

I asked Weber support and the tech said 23 minutes was "within range" of the expected time.

Just curious what other's experiences are.

Support is going to send me the welded upgraded auger/chute and I'm going to time it again before/after changing it out.
I'm also going to time it using Weber brand pellets.

Will report results back here and other places where I've posted this question.

Life got busy, but I finally got a chance to install the welded auger/chute/motor assembly todaay.
Here are the results:
Old hardware, Pit Boss pellets: 20:52
New hardware, Pit Boss pellets: 14:00
New hardware, Weber pellets: 14:38

How does the welded upgraded auger/chute shorten the time to get to 600?

I thought that the steeper feed ramp just prevented the pellets from failing to feed after you were deep into a cook. Is there more to it?
