HM ATMEGA328P-PU chip

Newbie here with a question. On the ATMEGA328P-PU chip.
Mouser's chip is on backorder. But I found and ordered one that is programed at Adafruit IND. 1 x Arduino bootloader-programmed chip (Atmega328P).
Can this be used for the HM 4.1? Or do I need one that is not programed?

I'm building a HM 4.1 for a offset smoker will post pics once my project is completed.
I'm sure I will have more questions once all of my parts arrive.

Thanks in advance for any help.
Sam C.

Golly Mouser is out of every 328 variant, aren't they?

Yeah a chip with the Arduino bootloader will work just fine. LinkMeter will detect it is an Arduino default and reset it before installing the HeaterMeter avr firmware.

I have found several bootloader variants of these chips, assuming as long as the Manufacturer part number is the same should be ok to use?

Don't those only come in 64 pin? I'm not sure how much of the code will compile for that chip. Registers might be different and HeaterMeter isn't written to support different chips.
