Hi everyone,

I grew up using my dad's 22" Weber charcoal grill for 30 years, and my post-college '99 Smokey Joe has still been going strong for over 15 years. I am now in the process of converting that Smokey Joe into a WSM build. Recently, I bought a 32qt pot ($16.99) at Gardena Supermarket--and the lid fit perfectly! Can't wait to get started. Also, this past week I bought a Q200 on Craigslist, and have been rolling up my sleeves getting it cleaned and ready. This has been a GREAT week!

Looking forward to getting more tips from this community!

BTW, what drew me to explore Weber grills further was that I had been using a $169 4 burner grill from a box retail store, and have been dissatisfied with the heat loss. There's basically a 2" wide gap running across the back. 48,000 BTUs don't mean much when heat is leaking everywhere and propane is wasted. When I checked out the Weber gas grills, they felt like tanks in comparison. Next time I go for a larger grill, I'm going to make a wiser long-term investment.

I tried the compact Q200 yesterday in the rain, and the spicy pork turned out great! With just 1/4 the cost of propane compared to the other 4 burner I have...

Welcome to the group Chang. It took you 30 years to grow up? I'm 52 and still don't think I'm a grown up. Enjoy those cookers.
