( Performer, Sm, Genessis II 335 ) I have plan to restore some of first gas grill but it isn't so easy in Europe. I was hounting for first G for few years, now I just bought Genesis 5000. I thing it's rare and worth work to make him great again. My questions: do have sanse to paint Him ? In my opinion Emally is in perfect condition, of course after 30 years is not so red when it was new but have no damages. I thing I could save Him in 99%original becouse everything is working fine only refresh is needed. So make him like new or save him like it was in 1991 ? I'm not sure if it is date of birth but seriar nr is EKS-1385 and papers was printed in 1992. Coul I have some comments from You ? Know I'm having bath with some parts and will show You some photos...

Welcome! Nice grill. It is not advised from what I have read here to paint the enameled part of the lid as it will not last. Looks like it is orange to me. Are you sure it was once red? If you search the forums here you will find a lot of great information on restoring Weber grills as I have.

I like your gasser, it’s actually the model that I would prefer, the side burner in the summertime here in Michigan would be here handy in keeping the house cooler.
Do NOT paint the hood, that will not hold up, the frame and internal parts (that do the work) are where things need to be taken care of.
Folks more talented than I will step up and be able to guide you through some of the restoration project.

Yes That was red 30 years ago
now it's look like some kind of pink, some differences have comes becouse I made photos by calculator I thing so that will be difficoult to pait that like prodoucer so it's better to keep it in first way. Look it's really nice in my opinion ... Maybe not red but really nice for 30 years ...Attachments
