That's awesome. I'm cooking philly cheese steaks for 60 on the ranch for my wife's 40th on the 25th...perhaps I could have everyone over the night before. Naw just an excuse to cook a pile on the 24th too, darn the bad luck.
I think I am going to grill some thick cut pork belly and grind some sausage to make one of those big looping rings (wors) like I see in the photos. http://www.jasonbagley.com/jasons-braai-tips/
I've read these are the rules: All guys have their way of doing things, and when its not your turn to braai, shut up and drink your beer. Offer to help, but if the braaier declines your offer, stay well away from his meat, unless he asks you to keep an eye on it while he pops inside to the toilet or to grab more spices and sauces. Also don’t offer your advice on how to braai, because you definitely won’t crack an invite the next time your mates decide to braai. Rather wait until its your turn to braai to show off your skills. Your mates will quickly pick up on your slick hands and meat handling which they will, in time, try out themselves. This is the only way that skills are transferred around the braai. The ONLY way.
Love it! Those rules sound similar to the rules I have when cooking for a large group here at the house especially for that lid lifting "what's cooking" guy (usually an in-law). Dwain it sounds like you got your braai all figured out so I my friend will sit back, keep quiet, drink my beer and have your skills transferred to me
Great plans without execution is a mere hallucination. I had to postpone my plans so I missed it.
I did not know it when I posted my Braai plans but... my lovely bride of 23 yrs - who is a stroke victim as of 27 Apr '15 @ 0300 - had to have a surgery to reinstall a portion of her skull that was removed due to brain swelling. The Dr's plan interrupted my grilling plans just slightly. I went with the Dr.
Good news is she was in surgery on Tues, out on Fri, is now home chillaxing, and is doin great.
Sorry to hear that. My mom had her stroke 1 year ago to the day and has had a few of those moments in the days between. Good days and a few oh no what is happening. Stay strong! You can always Braai another day
