Help Please. Heatermeter acting crazy

I am in the middle of my first cook when I decided to increase temp from 225 to 230. Should be no big deal...Not sure if its related but all of the sudden the heatermeter goes offline and is cycling between pit temp and no pit probe. So I thought thermocouple was acting up or bad connection. I tried another thermocouple and same thing. Then I unplugged servo/fan cable and it works fine. Plug cable back in and it goes crazy again. It has been working fine for 15 hours so I know my connections are good. Has anyone seen this before?

NEVERMIND it must have been servo motor. These things are junk.... 1st motor had bad gears. On 3rd now!! Last one hope it last.

Thanks
Joe

Yah, sometimes you get a stinker servo. That said, if you force them into a hole where they fit tightly they will bind and be difficult to move and may draw more current and/or end up with jammed gears and burn out prematurely. Sounds to me like your servo was struggling and browning out your HM. Make sure you open up the hole the servo fits into enough so you don't have to force the servo into it. Once you get the servo moving smoothly if the HM still flakes out you might try a power supply with a little more current capability (I run a 2A PS instead of 1A)
